OfflinerThis
product will be based on our patented technology that allows working
with information offline with the same efficiency as online. Let's consider
an example of its practical implementation. The user reads news from newsletters (mailing lists)
offline. If a piece of news interests the user, there are several options of
receiving additional information: 1. to
snatch the handset from one of your household and connect to the Internet to
review this piece of news. But first, this causes problems; second, it is
inconvenient to connect to the Internet each time you find an interesting piece
of news. It is also inconvenient to stay online while reading news (waste of
money) and get up somebody against yourself by seizing the line. It is much
easier to read news at work where the dedicated line is available, but some
people have not this opportunity. Besides: - most
people that have a computer at home prefer to read newsletters at home, - even if
you have a little time to look though newsletters, it is often inconvenient to
connect immediately to the Internet. Moreover, when the user is busy, he or she
will prefer to clear off the work and then begin to do another one that requires
time, even if the latter is much interesting. Most people do not like to switch
from one work to another one. So, the
first option does not suit an average user whether he or she looks through
newsletters at home or at the office. 2. to put
the newsletter with the interesting piece of news to a special folder, for
example ‘interesting news’. But this results in looking through again the
whole newsletter to find the necessary piece of news. This will not cause
conflicts in the family, but it is rather inconvenient. Thus, this option is
rejected too. 3. to copy
the piece of news to the clipboard and save it to a text file, for
example. This option is the most preferable and maybe most people use it (who
have no dedicated line or several telephone line at home). However, it is
inconvenient, because it is necessary to remember to look through the saved
information while connecting to the Internet. Besides, you should comment
information, for example some news must be read first, the rest later. If you
store long time this information (news, Web links, comments, etc.), the file
will become very big and inconvenient for navigation (there is no search tool,
classifier and other useful capabilities). Now let’s
consider what the user can do while working with our product online or offline.
Having found an interesting piece of news (the Web link to it), the user clicks
on it and it is added to the queue for deferred delivery that will be received
when the connection to
the Internet is available. Besides, the user sets the parameters for displaying
information when it is received. Moreover, it is possible to set the parameters
manually or use ones set by default. For example, the user can set the following
parameters (this is not the full list): - to
periodically remind
of viewing information (for example each two hours), - if
information is not received for example within 24 hours, it will be removed from
the queue for deferred delivery (it is not reasonable to store useless
information in the archive) - if
information is received, but not viewed till the specified time, it will be
removed from the archive. For example, there is no sense to learn on Sunday
about the Saturday premier of a movie. - to
display the list of unviewed information. Users will appreciate all these simple and obvious features that will allow them to carry out different actions with one click.
